Two ways to see the estate before you commit to anything: walk it with a consultant if you are in Rio, or take a live video tour by call if you are not. Both end the same way — with a written proposal for your date, your guest count and the format you want.

In person
If you are already in Rio: how a visit works
The visit is by appointment and the slot is yours alone — no group tour, no queue. A consultant meets you at the private car park and takes you along the route your guests will take on the day: the entrance, the ceremony garden, the pool terrace and the covered hall, then the getting-ready suites and, last, the covered space that is the rain plan.
It is a conversation with the place in front of you rather than a tour, and it ends with the numbers that matter to you: whether your date is free, whether your guest count works, what is included, what you can bring from outside. If there is an event being set up that day, come then — a dressed venue answers questions nobody knows how to ask.
Bring an approximate guest count including suppliers and crew, two or three possible dates in order of preference, and a rough idea of the format you picture. Twenty minutes of preparation makes the difference between a nice walk and a proposal.
On a call
If you are abroad: the live video tour
Most couples who write to us in English see the estate this way first. It is a live call — not a recording — with someone walking the property, so you can ask for the corner of the garden you saw in a photograph, or for a look at what is behind the camera.
What we show, in order: the approach and the gate, the ceremony garden and the light it gets at the hour you are considering, the covered hall from the inside with the ceiling in shot, the pool terrace, and the suites. What we say out loud on the call is the same thing we say on this site — including the parts that are inconvenient, like the fact that nobody sleeps here.
Send two or three times that work for you and we will find the overlap. Half an hour is usually enough for a first call.
The tasting, and when it happens
The tasting is a real thing here and it is not part of the visit. It runs once a month, midweek and in the evening, as a shared event with several couples, and it is open only to people who have already seen the venue in person. The couple are our guests; places are limited and names go on the list in advance.
For a couple flying in, that has a practical consequence worth saying plainly: unless your trip happens to fall on the right week, tasting the menu means a second visit to Brazil, or tasting it on the trip when you come to sign. Ask us for the next dates early and we will try to line them up with your travel.
Language
Talking to us in English
The planning conversation runs in English from your first WhatsApp message through to the written proposal. WhatsApp is the channel to use, and the one we answer in English — write rather than call. Email reaches us too, but we do not promise an English reply there, and the live video tour is conducted in Portuguese unless you arrange otherwise with your consultant first.
Contracts and invoices are issued in Portuguese, because that is the language they are legally written in here. We will walk you through them clause by clause, and couples who want a sworn translation for their own records normally arrange one locally.
On the day itself, the coordinator running your event speaks English. The rest of the floor does not: a crew of forty on a Saturday night — kitchen, bar, security, valet, technical — works in Portuguese, and that is true of venues anywhere in Brazil. In practice this works because everything that matters on the day goes through the coordinator anyway. If you have guests flying in and want to know who will be on shift for your specific date, ask us and you will get a direct answer.

Ask for a date, a visit or a proposal
Tell us the date you are considering, roughly how many people are coming and what kind of celebration it is, and a consultant comes back to you to confirm availability and set a time — for a visit or for a video call.
The form is in English, and the reply comes on WhatsApp, in English. The fields, in order, are: your name, your phone number with country code, your email, the type of celebration, the date you have in mind, the number of guests and anything you want to add. Only your name, your phone number and the type of celebration are required — the rest helps us answer properly. If you would rather write than fill in a form, message us on WhatsApp in English: same team, same answer, usually faster.

We are in the west of the city of Rio de Janeiro, inside the municipal boundary, where the Atlantic Forest comes down to the coast. The road is paved all the way to the gate, ride-hailing coverage is good, and parking is private and on site with valet.
Driving times from Copacabana, Ipanema, Barra da Tijuca and the two airports are not published on this site yet, because we have not measured them door to door on an event day — see the note on the English home page. Ask us on the call and we will talk you through the route.
Visits are by appointment only, and there are no visits on Fridays: that is the day the house is set up for the weekend.
Straight answers
Questions before you book a time
Do we have to visit before booking?
No, but almost everybody sees the place somehow first, and we would rather you did. If you cannot travel, the live video call is a real substitute for a first look: our team walks the estate with you and answers as you go. What a call cannot convey is the distance between the settings and the scale of the covered hall.
Can we visit on a Sunday or a Monday?
No. Visits run Tuesday to Saturday, by appointment, and there is no commercial service on Sundays or Mondays. Fridays are also blocked: that is the day the house is being set up for the weekend events, so nobody is free to show you around properly.
Is the tasting part of the visit?
No, and this is worth planning around if you are flying in. The tasting is a separate, monthly evening event shared with other couples, held midweek, and it is open only to people who have already seen the venue. The couple are our guests at it. For a couple travelling from abroad it usually means a second trip, or attending it on the same trip if the dates happen to line up.
What time zone are you in?
Rio de Janeiro runs on BRT, UTC minus three, and Brazil no longer changes its clocks. From April to October that is four hours behind London and one hour ahead of New York; the gap shifts by an hour when the northern hemisphere moves its clocks and we do not. Send us two or three times that suit you and we will find the overlap.
Who will show us around?
A consultant from the house, not a receptionist — the same person who follows your event from the first message to the day itself. Além do Sonho Eventos is rated 4.8 on Google across 316 reviews.
How long before the wedding should we get in touch?
About a year ahead is our recommendation, and the calendar opens roughly two years out. Saturdays between October and December are the first to go. If guests are flying in, book the date earlier still — everything else in the plan, from flights to a hotel block, hangs off it.
